Anyone can benefit from Reiju. No knowledge or previous experience of Reiki is necessary for receiving Reiju. Being a subtle-energy phenomenon, Reiju does not require physical proximity of the people involved. I do Reiju every day with many people, from all around the world, who find me through this website. Some of them receive Reiju only once, or a few times. Many choose to receive it weekly or even daily. Reiju is offered at whatever time is preferred by each person. The procedure I use for giving Reiju is the one learned by Usui's students. Energetically, my Reiju also incorporates the "purifying" aspects of Jourei.

... it (gradually, i think it began like 5 minutes or so after the 19:00 point and i can't say how long it took). Random images and feelings kept coming as dreamlike fragments with strange characters, situations etc, each time my inner reaction was different (laughing, avoiding, getting a little scared, a little curious or just realizing something is coming up, being released or transformed) after each one 'waking up' to the flow of the peaceful and reassuring energy that instantly dismissed or repaired any harmful or unnecessary reaction, slowly moving back into the sleeplike state to explore further (not relaxedly aware meditation but not exactly sleep either). The last specific feeling was perhaps the end of the reiju, perhaps not, but it felt like a sudden VERY STRONG wave of 'coming back' here and now as light, all at once. More of a physical feeling than an 'altered state' of mind/emotion (but physically unlocated, or located everywhere or perhaps centered in the heart chakra) of being a whole lot of light coming suddenly into shape on all levels, beyond mind but again with that reassuring background feeling (jourei?) which clears fear-based hindrances and self-damaging beliefs of any kind directly and instantly allows to perceive the meaning of healing not as an action, but as something which already is, once the confusion is no longer there.
After that i continued to intend to receive the rest of the reiju if there was more, and gradually went to sleep for real — which was very relaxed and without dreams, or at least i don't remember any."

... and piercing (in a delicate, spiritual way). About 10 -15 min later it reached a peak. For a certain period of time I felt the energy concentrated around my belly, than at the back of my heart, and my throat. Following that were very intense waves of energy, curiously first on the left half of my entire body, than on the right.... I had a feeling that the energy was working very specifically in a certain moment on balancing my male and female aspects. The experience in that moment was pure happiness and for a brief moment I slipped into a state of feeling one with the source of all that is. As someone who had experience in attending enlightenment intensives, I can recognize that state, and it brings about pure joy, happiness and unconditional love. The whole experience lasted around 35 minutes, and after that it started to fade. Yet I could still feel the energy for another 30 minutes after, very soft and tender like. The ending is what surprised me the most.... After around 30 minutes, the last thing that begin to happen was a very strong, piercing sensation in my hand chakras. I never felt anything so piercing in my palms; not even during attunements. I feel those centers as more open and stronger now. At the beginning of the treatment I had a vision of Sensei Usui in my third eye, and it was a very profound experience for me. I never had visions of any kind or personal connection with him, but this time it felt like I was given a blessing from him.

Reiju experiences may differ greatly from person to person, as you can see from the above descriptions. Reiki is a subtle energy, often perceived differently even by one person at different times. There is no such thing as a "normal" or "standard" or "typical" Reiki experience. Please do not expect your Reiki/Reiju experiences to match the ones described here; just be receptive and allow each experience to be what it is.
